MEET THE FIND: Benno and Andy of Dock & Bay interview
Dock & Bay was founded by two intrepid travellers, Benno and Andy, who were driven by the simple fact that they wanted to take a risk, be themselves and enjoy their lives to the fullest, whilst having a big smile on their face along the way. Something they strongly believe in and are keen to spread to the masses through their bright and colourful brand.
Featured on Dragons' Den in 2017, after three generous offers Andy & Benno agreed to Deborah's investment offer. They are now working together on the next stage of this growing towel brand.
ANDY AND BENNO'S TOP TIPS ON TRAVELLING THE WORLD ON A BUDGET
- Prebooking accommodation
If you really want to travel on a budget, then hostels are definitely the best solution! Not only are they super affordable but they are great places to meet like-minded travellers who also want to unwind after a long day sightseeing. Apps like hostelworld.com and hostelbookers.com are great to see the best deals around you.
- Only bring hand luggage
Unless you’re moving house, you never need a bag larger than hand luggage! Make sure you save space using a packing, rolling technique and a Dock & Bay towel! Toiletries under 100ml can be bought from THE FIND in advance and clothes can be washed at the local laundrette.
- Embrace the local street food
The locals definitely know where it’s at when it comes to food. Embrace the local culture and try delicacies on a budget – often you’ll get to try things you’ve never tried before, as well as saving valuable cash that you would have spent on a Big Mac in McDonalds – and where’s the fun in that?
